I was born in the Netherlands, where I completed my GP training and a specialisation in tropical medicine. Before my family and I found our home in Motueka in 2012, I worked in Columbia, providing medical aid to indigenous communities.
I am passionate about getting to know people, learning about their backgrounds, motives and aspirations. While I enjoy all aspects of rural general practice, my special interests are travel medicine, rheumatology and woman’s health. I am a certified Yellow Fever vaccinator and I also work in the public rheumatology clinic twice a month.
Outside of work, I love spending time in the outdoors and with my young family.
